Tis' the season for Scholarships

Hey Guys,

I wanted to share with you some information on the scholarships I will be applying to in the next several months. Most organizations that offer scholarships require you are a member to be eligible to apply, so if you haven’t heard of them before it’s a great time to join and get things lined up for next years application deadlines. I should preface this with saying these are scholarships available to women living in North America (for the most part).

1. Women in Aviation International (WAI):

all applications due November 12, 2019

Women in Aviation International have a massive network of foundations across the US that use their services. Some of these scholarships are available to international applicants and others are not so it is important to have a read through and make sure you adhere to all the requirements .

“A total of $948,500 of scholarship funds were awarded in 2019, including an additional $73,000 in June from an anonymous contributor".”

That is impressive! they do require you are a member in good standing to apply so have a look here for membership options.

2. The Ninety-Nines International:

The Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships & Awards - due January 1st, 2020

For AE Flight Training, Academic or Technical Training Scholarships, applicant must have been a member of The Ninety-Nines, Inc. continuously for one full year as of January 1. - If you are not a member and are in need of financial assistance to complete your flight training I highly recommend you join before the end of the year. Although you may not be able to apply for this round of scholarships I recommend you take the time to reach out to your local chapter, get to know the members and start becoming an active member. It takes time to familiarize yourself with the community and doing so will only add value to your application. If you are interested in becoming a member you can find more details here.

Between these two resources I will be applying to a total of four scholarships from Now Until January 1st. They take a lot of time to put together so be diligent and get started early. They require a lot of information and also two recommendation letters. I’ll try and keep you guys up to date with other upcoming scholarships and please feel free to contact me if there are others that you think I should make mention of. I am not an expert in the field so I appreciate the help.
